Liberation Music Therapy in the Time of Trump
A Free Online Workshop on Trauma, Art, and Supporting the Resistance
Free Online Workshop
Thursday, June 19, 2025
8:30–10:00 pm ET
Facilitated by Dorian Wallace, MT-BC
As Trump and the Republican Party escalate their fascism, the need for trauma-informed, liberation-rooted creative work is urgent. This 90-minute online workshop is designed for artists, music therapists, mental health professionals, and activists to explore how their work can support people, movements, and resistance.
We will explore the Praxis Wheel, a framework designed to guide safe, liberatory, and practical approaches to supporting anti-fascist, abolitionist, and pro-democracy work through our unique mediums—whether you're a therapist, organizer, educator, or artist.
Who is this for?
You don't need to be a music therapist to attend. Open to:
Music therapists, mental health professionals
Artists, dancers, poets, and musicians
Educators, social workers, and health workers
Organizers, activists, and community caregivers
Anyone navigating trauma in these times
